Big News!

This is so exciting! Last night Reese slept from 930 until 745 am! This is HUGE! The night before he was up 2 times. Now we will see if this will start an awesome trend.

Riley overtakes Ramsey

I knew that this would one day happen. I just didn't expect it to happen so soon. Its just a given that Riley would be bigger than Ramsey, and I expected it to happen during the teen years because teenage boys are famous for their growth spurts. Riley already wears the same sized clothes that Sissy does, he wears a bigger shoe, and they have been neck n neck height wise for some time. (Ramsey still has about a half inch on him) But we weighed them on Sunday and the total is in: Ramsey weighs 61.8 lbs, while Riley weighs 62.5. So Riley wins! He is extremely proud of himself.

Regan the Mess-maker

This is not a joke.

Last night, in about 20 minutes total, I cleaned up 5 messes that Regan made. Yes, that is an average of 1 every 5 minutes. It felt like forever. I guess I could teach him to clean up the messes, but that might make it worse.

Reese at 6 months

Reese had his 6 month checkup, and the boy is big. 19 pounds, 27 1/4 inches. (Ramsey was 19 pounds at a year old) He has 3 teeth with one closing in. He is officially crawling, but still not much of a sitter, because he would rather stand. He loves his food, especially applesauce, but he is a little particular when it comes to the cereal.

But for being such a big boy, he still is not sleeping through the night. We have tried a bedtime routine, making sure he eats enough during the day, making sure he is rested, but nothing has worked. Last night he woke up twice! Ugh. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

He still has a ton of hair and is almost ready for his 2nd haircut. But my favorite part? His favorite people are Ramsey, Riley, and Regan. I hope they will always be best friends. I will post some pictures when I get my camera fixed, or get a new one.

Toilet Troubles

In our house, we only have two bathrooms. (With five people using the bathroom, its not a lot.) Well over the past week we have had some....issues....with the flushing. I would plunge and plunge, and nothing. Rob is the Toilet Whisperer. Seriously its like the toilet knows its Rob and it will behave for him. The hall bathroom was having problems. It flushed...um...slow. We would continue with the plunging routine, but nothing would change. I sent in Rob. He ended up having to take apart the bowl, and also the pipes behind it to find the problem.

Moral of the story? Small Transformers do flush, but once they go down, nothing else will.

3 months old

Well time keeps passing as now little Reese is 3 months old! Yikes!

Having this little guy around is refreshing. He is always happy. He will fuss in his crib after waking up, but as soon as he sees you, he is all smiles. He loves to watch his older siblings, and continues to add to his chubbiness. I estimate his weight around 17 pounds now. His hair is still really dark, and it sticks up on top, even if I brush it down while wet. Its amazing to me how much he likes me. My older children all liked Daddy best, but Reese smiles the most for me. Am I bragging? Perhaps a little. But it makes me happy. He will smile at me when I have on no makeup, my scraggly ponytail and my standard uniform t-shirt. He makes me feel beautiful, like I am his hero. Its humbling, and Reese is a blessing.

Ramsey

Many, many things have been happening in our household. (and I am a total slacker in updating!)
So here goes...

Ramsey turned 8. Oh my gosh. EIGHT! She is tall and skinny now, when she began life so small. I don't have any pictures from when she was tiny on the computer, and I'm still working on getting a scanner. She is a great big sister and helper. Since her birthday is Nov 2, she got to have a party on Halloween, complete with costumes, pizza, cake, and some friends.

Then the next weekend she was baptized by her daddy. What a neat day. Rob and I had talked extensively about what we wanted for the program and we both agreed that the normal way seemed too long for a child. Rob talked with our bishop to see what was absolutely necessary and we went from there. Rob said that he wanted that day to be a great experience for her. Both Rob and I don't remember much from our own baptisms, except for some of the people there, so we had her grandmothers share experiences/testimonies from their own baptisms and confirmations, and the family sang a song. Ramsey just about glowed the entire time. Now she is telling me she needs this, and that, and more this, and I'm thinking "you've got plenty of time....no need to rush". However, time just keeps passing way too quickly. It seems like yesterday that we blessed her....
